The Committee to Study Relationships with Young Surgeons was established with ad hoc status in 1969. In a letter dated June 12, 1973, Dr. Hanlon communicated to Dr. Eric W. Fonkalsrud, Chair of the ad hoc Committee, that the Committee鈥檚 ad hoc status had been changed to "'standing鈥� at [the] recent Regents鈥� meeting.鈥� The Committee鈥檚 name was changed twice subsequently: once in 1980, to Committee on Young Surgeons, and again in 2009, to Young Fellows Association.
