The Committee to Study Relationships with Young Surgeons was established with ad hoc status in 1969. In a letter dated June 12, 1973, Dr. Hanlon communicated to Dr. Eric W. Fonkalsrud, Chair of the ad hoc Committee, that the Committee鈥檚 ad hoc status had been changed to "'standing鈥 at [the] recent Regents鈥 meeting.鈥 The Committee鈥檚 name was changed twice subsequently: once in 1980, to Committee on Young Surgeons, and again in 2009, to Young Fellows Association.
