Winning health care partnerships draw on individual strengths. Our National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) member organizations are dedicated to a collaborative process to achieve a single, national standard for the quality of care provided to the patient’s with diseases of breast. Each organization currently has at least one representative that sits on the NAPBC Board.

Organizations interested in becoming a member organization of the NAPBC and its Board are required to meet the following criteria:
- Membership is open to government agencies and professional, non-profit organizations.
- Provide financial support for their representative at two in-person Board meetings annually.
- Be national in scope.
- Have a national membership and board of directors or appropriate governance structure.
- Hold an annual or bi-annual national meeting.
- Must demonstrate involvement in one or more of the following areas within the field of breast care:
- Cancer registration and/or surveillance
- Cancer patient care services
- Patient advocacy (breast cancer focused)
- Cancer control and prevention efforts
- Professional education in oncology
- Oncology research.
Organizational representatives are required to:
- Be a member of the breast care team at an NAPBC-accredited or hold a staff position in the organization applying for membership
- Possess knowledge of the NAPBC goals and objectives.
- Have interest in contributing to the work of the NAPBC by serving on at least one NAPBC committee.
- Can participate in two in-person meetings annually and quarterly conference calls, as requested.
Organizations that meet the criteria outlined above may complete the . Organizations will receive a confirmation of receipt and a timeline for the application review process.
- Consideration is given to the completeness of the application and supporting materials and the organization’s alignment with the mission and goals of the NAPBC.
- Applications are reviewed by the NAPBC Executive Committee and approved by the NAPBC Board.
